adidas Samba x Extra Butter Consortium Cup

The Adidas Samba x Extra Butter Consortium Cup was released off the back of its success as an entree in the inaugural Adidas Consortium Cup in 2023. The cup was a competition set up by the brand to find the next great design for their iconic Adidas Samba and pitted 16 footwear retailers against each other in a single-elimination format to determine whose look would be considered the hottest around. Although not the eventual winner of the competition, New York-based retailer Extra Butter founded in 2007 gained multiple accolades for their creation and we can certainly see why. Flaunting a muted green suede base with a fuzzy T-toe overlay in a complimentary dark green hue. This model uses intricate stitching to form the 3-stripes on the lateral sides, while teal 3-stripes adorn the medial panel. Offering up some contrast within the shoe’s chosen colour palette cream white tones hit the laces that work well with the yellow tongue, lining, and leather heel tab. Underneath, a dark gum rubber sole completes the unique design of this Consortium Cup entry.
