Celebrating 40 years of TMNT the Adidas Superstar x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shelltoe is a playful take on the classic Superstar silhouette that is sure to bring joy to fans of the franchise and fans of fashion alike. Pop culture phenomenons since 1984 when they first hit screens, we think it is certainly fitting that Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael have had their style imprinted onto the appropriately named Superstar. Revamping and modifying the classic shell toe design to cleverly mimic the mutant’s turtle shells, Adidas has pulled out all the stops to create an aesthetic worthy of the collaboration. A craft green base and darker green hues that envelop the suede heel tabs and inner lining represent the turtle’s skin, while red serrated 3-Stripes and lace charms honour the original masks worn by the four heroic ninjas. The sock liners boast pizza graphic prints, honouring the squad’s favourite post-fight dish and a gum rubber sole is said to give the wear Turtle Power! Cowabunga!
